​Cylinder liner is a bore or barrel in which movement of engine piston takes place in back and forth way. It’s an integral part of the cylinder block and can be designed as a separate sleeve or liner. Manufacturers have dry cylinder liners and wet cylinder liners at the facility. Both are different liners offering different functions and features.

Marine diesel liners used in two stroke engine are manufactured with cast iron. These engine cylinder liners have the mechanical properties of machinability, self-lubrication, good wearing, and hardness. Manufacturers machine the bore, scavenge parts, and external landing surfaces to a fine tolerance.
